Elevate My Classroom

I need to attend Elevate virtual conference and obtain books that will help me grow in my profession. I will study cognitive load theory and attend Elevate virtual conference to help my students love learning.

My Project

All of my students are on IEP. Most have ADHD several have autism, and a few have dyslexia. One thing they all have in common is lack of motivation. I have used books "Teach Like a Pirate", "Social Skills Activities for Special Children", and several other books. Two main aspects I need professional growth in is understanding cognitive load theory and motivating students with dyslexia. Elevate! virtual workshop will add motivational material to my classroom, provide applications to cognitive load theory, and engage with other colleagues in a virtual setting during summer 2023.

This summer I will be able to attend a virtual conference Elevate and have the resources I need to better understand cognitive load theory to help my students reach their full potential.
