Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A book is the best tool a teacher has, because it can take students to all sorts of places. Books play an integral part in my STEM classroom because it helps build background on the lesson or immerse students into the theme.

These books will all play a part throughout the year as we celebrate different moments from Native American Heritage Month to Asian American Heritage Month and promote some critical thinking in our STEM lab.

Books like We Are Water Protectors and Keepunumuk: Weeâchumun's Thanksgiving Story will be to introduce my students to Native American Heritage Month where students will learn about the importance of clean water and the how the Wampanoag tribe constructed their houses. All the books serve a purpose and that is to give students background and a connection before they are introduced to their engineering challenge. Lastly, masking tape is essential to our STEM challenges and will be vital to our challenges. Knowledge is Power and the best way to obtain more knowledge is through books. I hope you'd consider donating to my classroom.
