All 280 students in my school from 3K through 5th-grade students can't go to school but stay home for distance learning. Each student's family receives either one laptop or iPad. We use different online resources, such as Google Classroom and Google Meet, to teach the students. Some students who live in shelters have a hard time with distance learning because they don't have enough space for learning. Some students have brothers or sisters who live in the home, and they need to share the laptop or iPad with their brothers or sisters. Although the students are facing economic disadvantages, they work very hard to complete their online reading and math assignments. I am so proud to be one of their teachers.
During this COVID-19 school closure, my school lent computer devices to students in grades 3K, Pre-K, and kindergarten. Some of the students live in shelters, and they are suffering from economic disadvantage. Because of the COVID-19, they are scared, stressed, and frustrated. Some of the students received laptops for distance learning. The devices don't include touch screen features. They have a hard time navigating the touchpads. They need Kindle Fires that they can easily navigate among apps. They will use the Kindle Fires to read online books in Myon, draw cartoons in Sketchbook, and improve math and reading skills in iReady. Please help the students in grades 3K, Pre-K, and kindergarten for their distance learning in this tough time. Thank you.
