Help me give my students a school counseling program that is equipped to deal with the negative emotions caused by COVID-19. The projector will help me provide more engaging small counseling groups.
My students are some of the best that I have worked with. I am a school counselor and help all of the students at my school. They are resilient and willing to learn. Even though this is the case, we are a title 1 school and have many of our students who are struggling financially. We also have students who are going through really hard times who need additional support.
Even though some may be struggling, they still come with a smile on their face and do their best to participate.
I love to watch them grow and learn that they can do hard things and become the best version of themselves.
My Project
COVID-19 has caused a large amount of anxiety and negative emotions for my students. Because of this, we are working on providing small group counseling sections to teach students social emotional skills. This will not only help them on an emotional level but also with their academics. If our students are not able to manage their emotions, they will have a harder time focusing in class.
These resources will help me create a counseling program that can better serve the students at my elementary school.
Many of the books and games purchased will work to create a curriculum that puts their emotions in a way that is easy to understand. At this time I am not able to know everything that my students might need through the year. The gift card is so that I can get what my students need as the they need it.
