COVID-19 has caused a large amount of anxiety and negative emotions for my students. Because of this, we are working on providing small group counseling sections to teach students social emotional skills. This will not only help them on an emotional level but also with their academics. If our students are not able to manage their emotions, they will have a harder time focusing in class. These resources will help me create a counseling program that can better serve the students at my elementary school. Many of the books and games purchased will work to create a curriculum that puts their emotions in a way that is easy to understand. At this time I am not able to know everything that my students might need through the year. The gift card is so that I can get what my students need as the they need it.
