Electronics Club Start-Up

My students need two electronics learning labs and two soldering irons to help get our 2011/2012 middle school electronics club started.

My Students

In a world booming with electronics industry, basic understanding of how electricity works and how to build simple and complex circuits may give these students a competitive edge for their future.

These students are 7th and 8th graders in a student body exceeding 1200 from a community that has a history of industry, but is experiencing lay-offs and increased poverty and broken homes.

They are excited about using electronics, learning about them, and show a desire to be creative with what is given them.

My Project

Students who participate in our after school electronics club will gain a competitive edge for their future because virtually of all service, industry, education, politics and other employment involve an understanding of electronics in our digital age. With these kits, soldering irons, and other components and resources that I will be providing, students will engage in experimenting with, disassembling, repairing, and creating electronic devices. In addition to this, students will learn about basic and advanced components, programming microcontrollers, prototyping, and presentation.
