Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come to school each day, ready to learn, and to explore the world around them. They are inquisitive, full of energy, and aren't afraid to take risks. Each has their own unique learning style and they thrive with opportunities for creativity, teamwork, and collaboration. I am eagerly awaiting the return to in person instruction next school year so that we could resume to challenging, engaging, and creative learning. When that time comes, I want to make sure I am prepared for their return. As their teacher it is my responsibility to continue to nurture and develop my student's learning styles by creating opportunities to read about important historical events that shaped the history of the state we live in!

My Project

These science materials will help my students bring to life the abstract concepts they read about when we learn about electrical energy. Science is a subject that tends to be one of my student's favorite. One of their favorite aspects of science is the opportunity to engage in hands-on investigations. My plan is to have students rotate to different learning stations. At each station, they will have the opportunity to experience first hand what it takes to generate electricity. My kids will learn by doing. These hands-on investigations will encourage them to DO. They will make observations, ask questions, touch, smell, and experiment. This will allow them to really make discoveries on their own.
