Effective Labs For My 8th Graders

Help me give my students an algae bead photosynthesis lab and a balancing chemical equation kit. Both of these labs will be a hands-on experience for my students.

My Students

I teach junior high science and love it. People for many years have said, "you are a saint," or "I could never do that." Teaching junior high is and has been so rewarding to me. My students have made such a difference in my life. They all love hands-on labs. Having this opportunity to help give them a new lab, will be exciting for them and rewarding for me.

My Project

I am asking for two separate labs that will add to my current curriculum. Both of these labs will give my students hands-on experience with the content taught in class. These labs will help students understand concepts that are harder to conceptualize without the hands-on labs. Photosynthesis and the Law of Conservation of Mass are hard concepts. Both of these topics deal with very abstract parts. Neither topic can be seen with a student's eye. Having these labs will help my students make better connections and have a better understanding of the content.
