I need additional resources and books to help students, parents, educators and the wider community with understanding how we can help our students build resiliency, grit and better mental health.
This project is unique in that I am looking to create resources for my students, parents, staff and community. I am a support counselor in a high school which has a population of 3300 students. Many are stressed out, anxious and overwhelmed...a few are contemplating hurting themselves. Because I do not focus on academic counseling, I am able to dedicate my time to supporting our students, parents and staff therapeutically as well as act as a reference when the adults are struggling to relate to their teenager. Working with the parents and adults who help educate these students can be complicated, so I enjoy having multiple resources to help.

Be able to work more effectively with Students and Staff to support their growth and progress is what these many books will help with; providing tools for teachers so I can dialogue with them more effectively.
For example, the book on grading is a great topic because so many of our teachers are still using an antiquated grading system. Teaching resiliency to both students and teachers help improve relationships as well as foster resiliency, which is what the student and teacher need to ensure learning happens on a daily basis.
