Help me give my students the ability to gain a deeper understanding in a virtual world with tools that will support their education and gain a better understanding.
Due to the current pandemic, I have been teaching my students virtually via Zoom using my school laptop. This works well, however, I notice the biggest challenge is that students need to be able to "see" and be involved in their learning. I would like to be able to do more with the features that an iPad could provide.
This would allow me to teach them from a distance but upload files and annotate documents to help them gain a better understanding than I can do with a laptop.
Students would be able to visually see what we are working on in math and English. From solving problems and working it out step-by-step to correcting sentences and proofreading, this would be extremely beneficial to students.
My Project
By having an iPad and Apple Pencil I will be able to annotate documents for students to see visually while on our virtual Zoom classroom. In math I will be able to display practice problems and walk them through the steps so they can see what I am doing on their own screen. In English class, they will be able to make corrections using the annotate feature to correct sentences and practice proofreading.
Students will be engaged in their learning rather than just watching and/or listening to it.
One of the biggest challenges I am having is getting students involved and excited to continue learning virtually. I believe this will help alleviate that and help students gain a deeper understanding.
