Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a Functional Skills class with students that range from Kindergarten to 6th grade with a variety of different needs ranging from Autism to intellectual disabilities. They often struggle with social interactions, behavior and self-regulation, focus and academics and deficits in adapting to their surroundings.

The school I work in is a Title I school, where all of the students receive free and reduced lunches, and many students come from low income houses.

It is a wonderful class with wonderful children who come to school everyday, ready to see what kind of fun adventure is in store for them.

My Project

I am so excited about the products chosen to support my students. The educational material and activities such as math bingo, sentence building, social skills and the phonics strips will be used to help the students meet their IEP goals. The printer and ink will help me to be able to print out their IEP's in my classroom, as to ensure student privacy. The printer will also allow us to print out activities and worksheets for the students to engage in. The jellyfish tank and fake aquarium will help to create a warm and relaxing environment. The playdoh, waterbeads and other sensory activities will help to keep the students engaged during sensory play.
