My Students
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of positive energy! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and activities that allow them to learn through whichever modality serves them best! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my teachers!
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly.
We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
Each student in my classroom has a diagnosis, with the majority being on the Autism Spectrum. Due to their diagnosis, my classroom has become their safe haven and a place where they can feel safe. Each student's differences are embraced and celebrate by myself and all staff.
My Project
The reading and writing skills folder games, Early Language Folder games, and Math Folder Game Libraries will allow all students to experience and grow in all are in a new and exciting manner. The Bingo Game Libraries will allow us as entire group review previously mastered math concepts to allow more fluidity with our in class assignments. Each game library offers the students a fun, interactive, and engaging way to experience all academic areas in which they may be struggling.
The majority of my students learn through the use of all modalities (tactile, visual, kinetic, and auditory) and the use of games allows us to increase all of these in a fun and very dynamic way.
The increase in games during academic tasks will allow the students academics and willingness to participate in challenging activities to grow. The students also benefit from the social skills learned and obtained by playing games.
