Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students use our school library for classroom research, exploring their passions, engaging in independent reading, and interacting with classmates both in and outside of instructional time. Our school library is an interdisciplinary space with the goal of creating engaged and conscious citizens by supporting the development of the whole child.

Fun, educational games allow students to interact with each other in positive ways, engage their brains, and improve their social and emotional skills.

By helping to provide educational games such as Chess and Checkers for these students, you are helping to give opportunities for creative thinking, problem-solving, and positive socialization. The library is open for students before school, during meal breaks, and after school. Having games in the library such as dominoes, balancing stones, and other activities available to them during these times creates a safe space for students to use their brains and meet other students, all while having fun in a low-stakes environment.
