My Project

Our small publicly funded K-12 charter school prioritizes hands- on and authentic learning experiences, however we struggle with being able to always fund these activities. We are fortunate to have received curricula and supplies from Spoons Across America, but we need to purchase the ingredients and some of the materials to be able to cook the recipes and complete the activities. Since we currently do not have a kitchen single use items such as paper plates and hand wipes will ensure food safely while cooking in the classroom.

These supplies will enable us to complete nutrition activities and recipes from the Spoons Across America curriculum with our 2nd-8th grade students.

The perishable ingredients and the cleaning supplies will allow us to begin right away and teach important life skills such as cooking and nutrition to our students of varying backgrounds. The reusable materials such as the microwave, aprons and cooing tools will ensure our ability to continue this program in the future.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
