Help me give my students the opportunity to learn strong interviewing skills and broadcasting production by supplying us with all the necessary equipment to produce our own podcast for the school
My school serves a diverse population in a community that values education for all. Currently, the school has 580 students enrolled. This allows students to experience a learning environment that is culturally diverse and engaging for all learners.
As a veteran teacher, I constantly strive to offer a learning experience specifically unique and individualized for each student.
As a result, I observe all students accomplishing tasks and achieving their personal goals in class. Witnessing a student who once refused to talk to any peer, voluntarily lead a group in a activity is one of the most satisfying experiences as an educator.
My primary focus is to ensure all of the students have the opportunity to be themselves; at the same time, I want them to be comfortable and confident in themselves to do something they normally would not attempt.
My Project
At our elementary, we are constantly searching for innovative ways for our students to grow academically and socially. Over the course of the last decade, podcasting has grown widely in popularity. My school does not have all the necessary equipment to offer the students this valuable opportunity.
Donating to this project, will allow all students to learn the skills essential in management, planning, and media production.
Podcasting is an innovative approach to build the students' skills in broadcasting production, storytelling, and communication. Building the students' technological literacy skills will increase their knowledge and understanding in the advancements in communication technology.
In order for this to be an innovative experience for the students, the project requires microphones, headphones, and a computer with editing software. Once the equipment is received, I would like to start a club that meets weekly to plan and record. To ensure all students have an opportunity to participate in podcasting, I will be pairing up with the media specialist to teach lessons using the podcasting equipment.
