At our elementary, we are constantly searching for innovative ways for our students to grow academically and socially. Over the course of the last decade, podcasting has grown widely in popularity. My school does not have all the necessary equipment to offer the students this valuable opportunity. Donating to this project, will allow all students to learn the skills essential in management, planning, and media production. Podcasting is an innovative approach to build the students' skills in broadcasting production, storytelling, and communication. Building the students' technological literacy skills will increase their knowledge and understanding in the advancements in communication technology. In order for this to be an innovative experience for the students, the project requires microphones, headphones, and a computer with editing software. Once the equipment is received, I would like to start a club that meets weekly to plan and record. To ensure all students have an opportunity to participate in podcasting, I will be pairing up with the media specialist to teach lessons using the podcasting equipment.
