This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are thoughtful, energetic, and compassionate. They have plenty working against them; however, they work hard to overcome the obstacles they face. Most of my students are living in poverty and do not have the monetary backing to get all of the proper equipment needed to participate in sports. The school and district, as well, cannot provide the resources necessary for our students. Sports provide an outlet to let the students escape some harsh realities and participate in something positive. It helps show them they are able to succeed despite the situations they have working against them. These kids are truly an incredible group and deserve the best!

My Project

Our basketball team wants to improve on their basketball skills, and new shoes would help make this possible. A lot of the kids on the team cannot afford basketball shoes and often play with holes in their shoes, their uniform shoes, or just shoes in terrible condition. Your donations will be used to buy new basketball shoes to make their playing safer and easier.

By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve and increase the students' ability to play basketball properly and safely, you will ultimately help to increase their enjoyment of the sport and provide an escape from some harsh realities for a little while.

These kids are leaders and hard workers. They deserve so much! They will love getting some much needed new shoes!
