My third graders are creative, curious and compassionate! They love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges, to work together in small groups and individually! They come to school each day ready to be risk-takers by trying new things and learning from their mistakes.
My class truly embody our PBIS motto which is to be respectful, empathetic, positive and respectful.
Our classroom embodies flexibility with the use of flexible seating. This year my classroom is in a portable, allowing me and my students to experience new challenges and practice our growth mindset.
My Project
The whiteboard easel will enhance my small group instruction and help facilitate classroom discussions. My classroom portable only has one whiteboard at the front of the room that is not magnetic.
My students would benefit from the whiteboard easel so that they can follow along with written directions in different parts of the classroom, practice small group work, and differentiate during rotations.
The small group teaching will help students that may need more scaffolding or a small group setting in order to learn in a way that is more suited to them.
Students will have the ability to display their work and illustrate their thinking. Magnetic pockets could be used on the easel to help students organize their papers, manipulatives, and lesson resources.
