My Students

These are unprecedented times. Never did I imagine that when my students and I said goodbye, on March 13th, it would mean that it was our last day in the classroom. However, the year is not over yet!

My students and I have embarked on the distance learning journey!

We are actively engaging in all sorts of different online platforms and learning new things. My students and I participate in Zoom meetings to go over material and to check in with each other. I am amazed by their level of engagement and participation, and families' willingness to try new things. They soak up information like little sponges, and to see a child go from being unable to hold a pencil, to writing multiple sentences independently. It is so important for them to be surrounded by a print-rich environment. Kindergarten is where they will begin to develop a love of books and reading and I know I play a huge part in instilling that love. An easel would helpful to display our books, writing and interactive pocket charts.

My Project

I never imagined that I would find myself remotely teaching from home, and that my students would be learning new material through video conferencing calls, google classroom activities and packets to work on at home. We are charging forward and looking at it as a learning opportunity for all!

This easel will give my students an opportunity to interact in all subject areas.

The whiteboard easel included in this project would serve as a tool that I can use during Zoom meetings to go over material easily, and to display anchor charts during lessons. I will also be able to use it with future classes in the classroom during carpet time work or in small groups.
