This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school strives to find the leader in all students. Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. The students in my class strive for excellence. They all inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects.
My students are amazing leaders who are focused, curious, and motivated to learn.
I teach in a suburb of Detroit. Approximately 53% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Our school is a "Leader in Me" school, which helps students develop the skills and self-confidence they need to lead their lives and succeed in school and beyond. In my classroom, I strive to build a safe learning environment that encourages love, support, and respect.
My Project
I love using my easel during my school day. I teach whole group lessons with my students. Using an easel is an easy way to ensure that all of the students can see the concept and/or strategy being taught. Unfortunately, my easel fell apart and I am in desparate need of a new one.
Easels are an essential teaching tool in my classroom because it helps to keep students engaged and involved while learning.
Students would be able to come up and quickly add to the lesson. If they are incorrect it is a quick swipe of the eraser to add the correct answers. Easels are an awesome teaching tool and make every lesson more enjoyable for the teacher andeven more so for the students! An additional bonus is that using an easel would save and and especially paper!
