This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are preparing our students at a young age to be leaders at home, school and in their community. My students come from low income families. Some of my parents work more than one job just to meet basic needs. We do not ask for anything but that their students come ready to learn. I have an incredible love of learning and try to instill that love in my students.
They may not be able to control everything in life, but they can escape into learning and being hands-on in their education.
In our classroom we are constantly growing and evolving. We are striving to do our best, taking chances, making mistakes and learning!
My Project
We are so excited about this new project! We have a small white board that we can use for group lessons but it can be hard to see for some kids in the back rows. We need a easel for phonics and math instruction. We also like to gather with smaller groups for additional instruction and make sure all students are understanding the material. The easel would also be used for read alouds and reading instructions. The storage area would help some of our clutter. We are constantly tripping over sight words and sound cards. I am so excited for the change this could bring to my room!
