Help me give my students access to an easel to be able to reteach in small groups creating a low filter environment. Whiteboards so they can work on math problems anywhere they are in the classroom.
My class will consist of 34 mathematicians, writers, readers and above all scholars who have various capabilities, talents and strengths.
What I look forward to is getting to know each of them individually and cohesively as a member of our Room 13 Family.
The students that will be in my class this fall have various abilities. I will have students who are fluent in English and can read and write while some of them will be newcomers to the country learning the English language.
I am ecstatic and a bit nervous for this new upcoming year but eager to help my students shine.
My Project
The easel will make a difference in my students learning as I will be able to work in small groups in any part of the classroom. Thus giving students the flexibility to work in any space of the classroom as I will be able to bring the easel with me. In addition, bringing the easel with me will not single out students who are being retaught.
I hope it will BOOST students' confidence to ask for help when needed as I will be able to come to them instead of them coming to the front of the class as currently that is the only place I have a whiteboard.
Students will use the clipboard to solve math problems and to share their answers/findings/conclusions while playing jeopardy or review games. Furthermore, they will be able to use the whiteboards to lay down on the rug giving them one more additional to space to work on.
