Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a dedicated National Board Certified Education Specialist working in a high school setting. Our Title I school serves a diverse population, and I am inspired by my students’ determination as they navigate social, emotional, and academic challenges. In our Community-Based Instruction (CBI) class, students participate in meaningful experiences, including joining the yearbook staff, attending school events, volunteering in the community, and serving on the Associated Student Body (ASB). They thrive through movement and hands-on learning, and I am honored to be their teacher, encouraging them to grow, explore, and reach beyond their own expectations.

With the semester in full swing, my students need a welcoming space to pause, relax, and recharge.

During scheduled breaks and our Inclusive Video Game Cafe, nourishing snack bars and weighted stuffed animals will offer comfort and support as students unwind and connect with friends. These simple additions will help create a cozy, caring environment where students can feel supported and ready for their next learning experience.

Thank you for considering our project and helping us create a space where every student feels welcome and cared for.
