Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
There is only one planet, Earth, and we need to let the new generations know how important it is to take good care of it. My students with different abilities will reflect on environmental awareness and how we can easily help the Earth.
The donations to this project will help students create beautiful arts and crafts that can be used to feed birds in our community, promoting this way our love for the animals in our environment.
For Earth Day, we will also be reading books like, "Recycle!: A Handbook for Kids!', "Could You, Would You Plant a Tree?", "Oh, Say Can You Seed?', and other Dr. Seuss books that talk about taking care of the environment. My students will learn about it while enjoying their favorite Dr. Seuss characters. I have also included Earth Day squeeze balls and some fidget toys to help my students reduce stress and anxiety levels.
