Help me give my students novels about the impact of climate as they analyze songs with an environmental theme played on a bluetooth speaker. They will compare the songs to the events and characters in the novels.
Earth Day inspires us, on so many levels, to be the best that we can be- to ourselves, to our families, to our communities, to our planet. Earth Day inspires us to tread more lightly and to be kinder EVERY DAY.
This ongoing project will educate students on the impact of climate issues and the environment.
It will give them space to think, to grow, and decide what they can do, from this day forward, to make a difference in the world.
Our district is one of the most economically impoverished districts in New York State. Having new novels and important projects to look forward to helps encourage our students to make a difference in the world.
Students will read novels that relate to the impacts of the environment on individuals and communities.
Students will listen to songs that inspire us to do our part to protect our planet. (The Bluetooth speaker on my wish list will add to our listening pleasure.)
Students will read articles, speeches, and poems about how our actions impact our environment.
After students have gathered ideas, information, and inspiration, students will write their own poems and speeches about the power of change. Students will record their poems to be shared within the classes and within the grade level. These poems will be shared over the Bluetooth speaker.
This is an important project. The novels and folders and speaker will enable us to learn and grow and will help us to change our mindset during this crucial time in history.
