Until now, our yearbook staff has relied on personal phones, but with new school rules in place, phones are no longer allowed during the school day. Without access to cameras, we risk missing out on capturing the daily moments, events, and memories that make our school year so special.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our students are able to gain hands-on experience in photography, design, and journalism. They are learning how to frame a shot, capture meaningful moments, and think creatively about how to tell a story visually. These are real-world skills that extend far beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nMore importantly, this equipment ensures that our school community will have a yearbook that truly reflects the spirit, friendships, and milestones of the year. Students are empowered to work as a team, take ownership of their work, and contribute to something that will be treasured for years to come.\r\n\r\nYour support is not just providing cameras—it is giving students the tools to preserve memories and create a meaningful keepsake for every student in our school. Students aren't just learning about business concepts—they are actively applying them in authentic situations that require teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability.\r\n\r\nWe've used this project in multiple fundraisers for the Class of 2027, and our Student Council has also used the equipment to make and serve lemonade to students within the school. Beyond that, students have had the opportunity to participate in community events such as the Memorial Day Parade and a local Strawberry Festival, where they provided lemonade while supporting and engaging with the community. These experiences have allowed students to see firsthand how their work can make a positive impact.\r\n\r\nThrough these events, students are practicing essential skills like calculating costs, setting prices, managing money, and delivering quality customer service. They are learning how to stay organized and work efficiently, especially during busy, high-pressure moments. These are skills that simply can't be replicated through traditional instruction alone.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is the opportunity to take ownership of something real. Whether they're preparing lemonade, handling transactions, or interacting with customers, they feel a strong sense of pride knowing their efforts contribute to a successful event. Being part of fundraisers and community activities makes the experience even more meaningful.\r\n\r\nSome students who may not always shine in a traditional classroom setting have truly found their place in this project. Hands-on learners, in particular, have shown tremendous growth. Students have become more confident speaking with others, stepping into leadership roles, and working as part of a team. It's been incredible to watch them develop both practical skills and self-confidence.\r\n\r\nThis project is not only teaching students about entrepreneurship—it's helping them become more confident, capable, and community-minded individuals. While many of our donors may be familiar with technology in everyday life, seeing how it's used in a school setting is truly powerful. This equipment has transformed learning into a hands-on, engaging experience. Students aren't just consuming technology—they're actively creating, problem-solving, and collaborating. They are learning real-world skills like sound mixing, event planning, and troubleshooting, all while building confidence and independence.\r\n\r\nWe've been able to use this equipment in a variety of settings, including pep rallies, school dances, class time activities, and more. Each of these opportunities allows students to apply their skills in different ways—whether it's energizing a crowd at a pep rally, setting the tone for a dance, or supporting classroom learning through audio and presentations.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most about this new equipment is the opportunity to take ownership of their school events. Instead of simply attending, they are now the ones behind the scenes making everything happen. There's a huge sense of pride that comes from running their own events, choosing music, managing sound, and creating an atmosphere their peers enjoy. It has turned school activities into something they feel personally connected to.\r\n\r\nSome students who may not have traditionally been involved in leadership roles have really thrived with this opportunity. Students who are more technically inclined or prefer working behind the scenes have found their niche, while others who were initially hesitant have grown more confident as they've learned how to use the equipment and contribute to a team. Watching these students step up, take initiative, and discover new strengths has been one of the most rewarding parts of this project.\r\n\r\nYour support hasn't just provided new tools—it has opened doors for creativity, leadership, and meaningful student engagement. During morning work and independent learning time, students enjoy a quick, healthy snack to fuel their brains. We also use the snacks as part of classroom projects, such as math lessons where students count, sort, and graph their snack items, or as a reward for teamwork and participation in reading and writing activities. It has been one less thing for them to worry about when we start class. Everything they need is right there at their fingertips. They don't have to get up to get scissors, glue, or colored pencils. Everything is there at their fingertips on their tables. The caddies have also evolved in each of my rooms. My middle schoolers have since added colored pencils to the caddies so they are ready to go when we need color in our diagrams. My primary classroom has added dry erase markers and erasers to their caddies. I have whiteboard tables in that room and support personnel push into that room to work with small groups. They have everything they need to work out math problems on their tables. The clorox wipes are handy to help clean those tables since that room doesn't have a sink.\r\n\r\nIt's been a great addition to the classroom and has added teaching time by taking out the time it takes to get all the little things ready to get class started.\r\n\r\nThank you for your continued support, it's greatly appreciated.","fullyFundedDate":1763603154909,"projectUrl":"project/colorful-and-stocked-pencil-caddies-help/9780515/","projectTitle":"Colorful and Stocked Pencil Caddies Help with Student Organization","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Simmons","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8114962_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721875021923","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8114962"},{"teacherId":8114962,"projectId":9848944,"letterContent":"Slime is always a huge hit with kids of all ages.
