Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project is inspired by Earth Day and all the ways we can celebrate our planet every day. Learning about the environment through beautiful illustrations and information in these carefully curated picture books will not only inspire my young students but encourage them to share their knowledge with others.

I also hope that by introducing these books to the class that they will be engaged in the process of finding ways that they as individuals can make a difference.

Finally, I'd like to use these books and activities (along with fun stickers and squishy balls) to encourage small-group cooperation so that they can solve environmental issues together. I always tell my students "Teamwork makes the dream work!" In this case, the dream is to become informed young citizens that do what they can to protect our Earth and find ways to minimize our negative impact.
