Many of my younger students struggle with pre-reading and phonological awareness. If they don't master these skills, they will struggle to read and then comprehension will also be a struggle.
Pre-reading and early reading skills are integral for young learners, and these books target these integral skills.
Most of my students come from homes where extra help and resources are scarce. They are dependent on their teachers and service providers to help them learn necessary reading skills in order to have academic success. As the school speech pathologist, I need resources like wipe boards and sight cards to do my part in helping the young children obtain the necessary phonemic skills.
