Early Childhood Education Activities

Help me give my students this great resource to complete projects in their Early Childhood Education course. They will be working hands on with preschool children developmentally appropriate activities.

My Project

My Early Childhood Education students are preparing for careers working with young children, and hands-on learning is at the heart of our program. Our students have the opportunity to plan and provide developmentally appropriate learning experiences for preschool children, allowing them to apply what they learn in the classroom to authentic early childhood settings.

A paper roll rack and paper rolls would give my students a versatile resource for creating large-scale, hands-on learning experiences for children ages 3–4.

Large paper allows young children to draw, paint, experiment with colors, practice early writing skills, explore their creativity, and work collaboratively with their classmates. It also gives my high school students opportunities to design activities that support physical, cognitive, language, social-emotional, and creative development.

The paper roll rack will make it easier for students to prepare, organize, and safely provide these experiences without wasting materials. Students will learn to think intentionally about how materials and learning environments can encourage exploration, independence, creativity, and collaboration.

This project will benefit both my high school Early Childhood Education students and the preschool children they serve. By having access to appropriate materials, my students can develop the confidence and professional skills they need to become thoughtful, creative, and responsive early childhood educators.
