This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I am requesting a lot of basic supplies like crayons, folders, and notebooks for my students, but I am also requesting headphones so when they are on their chromebooks we don't hear 24 different things going on. I am also requesting toothbrush holders because we use them to hold their pencils. Each child gets 5 pencils (they fit perfectly in the tubes) and if by Friday they still have all 5 when it's time to sharpen, they get a little prize. Simple but very motivating! As a teacher of math and science, we use expo dry erase markers with whiteboards ALL THE TIME, and we go through A LOT OF MARKERS! The notebooks and folders help keep the students organized and prepared for class and the numbers are used on their cubbies and on the chromebook cart, as each student is given a number since we departmentalize. It's all about working smarter, not harder and keeping us organized and ready to learn!!
