My Project

The Eagle’s Nest is a platform created by the Maya Angelou French Immersion Wellness Team. This platform was created to allow students an opportunity to voice their concerns. We will use this space to talk about college readiness and mental health. It is a space for relaxation, meditation, and study. The Eagle’s Nest will launch on 1/20/23 and our middle school students will be the first to experience this platform. Students expressed their concerns about a private space to talk, unwind, and relax, and we are delivering on that request.

We aim to make this space comfortable and inviting as well as equipped with resources to make it fun and educational.

While we are not waiting to provide the service to our students, we are in the process of creating the physical space, in phases. The first phase was purchasing materials for social-emotional learning and supplies such as colored pencils, crayons, and papers, which were fully funded, thanks to our families and community. Phase II is focused on flexible seating options and making the environment more comfortable and organized.
