Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are mostly English Language Learners and they are not exposed to both languages at school and at home. We start off our day by offering free breakfast in the classroom to all our students. This ensures that all students are well prepared for the most success in their learning environment. As, a Title I school, most of our students are on a free or reduced-price lunch program. We have a large number of Limited English Proficient students on our campus. By being in a Dual-Language classroom, this gives them the opportunity to succeed in their native language as well as in their new language.

My Project

My Kindergarten students are decoding syllables and are in the process of learning to read. My students love to read funny and easy books and they especially enjoy reading and listening to stories that are read aloud with a CD and listening via headphones.,

Help me by giving my students the opportunity to listen to stories read aloud with a CD using headphones and letting them have the feeling of well-being and calmness while sitting in a restful sofa especially designated for kids..Kindergarten is the foundation of reading and we need to instill the love of reading in these students so they can be successful readers.
