Help me give my students an opportunity to study dystopian novels in book clubs. All of these books are geared at giving my students a choice in relation to the theme of dystopian.
My school is full of one of the most diverse populations in our district. As a campus, we are maxed out at capacity and have new students enroll almost daily.
Because of this, my students have a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, races, and life experiences.
This allows my students to meet and learn with students whose life differ significantly from their own.
In my classroom, I spend my day with gifted and talented students. The strengths and skills my students bring to the table continually amaze me. They are some of the most creative and unique individuals who are always ready to learn and work hard.
My Project
One of my biggest goals as an educator is to create a love of reading. Book clubs help to achieve this goal.
By allowing students the chance to discuss the books they are reading, I'm creating more opportunities for students to fall in love with literature.
When students get excited about what they are reading, and about sharing what they are reading, they begin to value books.
My goal with this project is to help my students fall in love through dystopian novels. I would use the books purchased to start book clubs in my classroom, which would allow my students to find enjoyment collectively.
