One of my biggest goals as an educator is to create a love of reading. Book clubs help to achieve this goal. By allowing students the chance to discuss the books they are reading, I'm creating more opportunities for students to fall in love with literature. When students get excited about what they are reading, and about sharing what they are reading, they begin to value books. My goal with this project is to help my students fall in love through dystopian novels. I would use the books purchased to start book clubs in my classroom, which would allow my students to find enjoyment collectively.
