Dynamite Dissections for Potential Medical Professionals
Help me give my students the experience of seeing how their hearts work. Students can actually see how heart valves work and follow the flow of blood out of the aorta. These experiences truly inspire my students.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Senior human anatomy students with an interest in medical or STEM professions will get real experiences by dissecting animal organs. It is vital for an anatomy class to be able to dissect major organs. Students learn what the organs look like in 3 dimensions and learn proper surgical techniques as well as lab safety.
I teach human anatomy to students in a very rural county in Georgia.
These students are working diligently to complete high school. Some will be first generation high school graduates. These students need experiences in science to inspire them to continue their education and give them confidence in their academic abilities.
