This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in an inner city school district. I have 26 first grade students. Our students come from very diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Many students do not have access to the school supplies that they need to help them be successful at school.

My students come to school every day and are eager to learn.

They are excited about the opportunities they have at school be successful in their academics. They look forward to learning and interacting with their peers.

My Project

My students use the computer daily in all academic areas, especially in reading and in math. The academic programs that we use have an audio component which help support their learning. We have used several types of headphones which could not sustain the wear and tear of daily use by first graders.

Having access to the computer is a critical part of my students learning.

My students are faced with an increasingly challenging academic curriculum and durable headphones will help them to be successful. Using the headphones and being able to access the academic programs online will make a positive impact on their learning!
