My students are a part of the Virginia Preschool Initiative Program. The Preschool program is designed for at-risk four year olds who have social or economic conditions that put them at risk for poor academic performance. All of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Our school is a Title I school.
Regardless of their adversities and challenges, my students come to school every day eager to learn.
In my classwork, I strive to create an environment filled with respect, growth, discovery, and engaging actives. The classroom becomes a home to all of my students, and we become a family.
We do a lot of painting in our classroom to learn in an engaging way. A drying rack would help our classroom stay organized. Currently, our artwork goes anywhere there is space. It makes our classroom feel messy. A drying rack would keep my students’ work safe and organized. My students also need play dough supplies to engage them in their creations. It will help them with their creativity while using their fine motor skills. My class also needs flex seating for the library center. It would help them get their wiggles out, and stay focused. These supplies would greatly help our Pre-K classroom!
