Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I work at a Pre-K through 8th grade school located in South St. Louis. In a normal school year we have great needs to help provide an equitable education, but this year we will need to go the extra mile to help make sure our kids can learn safely!

My students work hard each day to overcome many of the difficult struggles of their lives and to ensure our school is a safe space for them to learn.

Middle school is never easy and with the added stresses of this pandemic, it is certainly going to be that much more difficult.

My Project

The pandemic has made hands-on learning difficult. We need some items to help us keep things interesting in the math classroom - that's where the personal dry erase boards come in!

I also believe the noise cancelling headphones will make some major impact in my classroom during our independent worktime for my easily distracted learners.

It is a long day in 6th grade to sit still and not bother your classmates; my hope is that this will help some of my students focus on their work instead of the noises they hear.
