This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My biology students are primarily ninth grade at our growing charter school! The strengths of our school include high levels of direct attention for each of our students, and we therefore have a very strong population of students with special needs.

We also offer online classes, and have a rich diversity of students for whom we meet their travel needs such as athletes, actors, dancers, and families with travel obligations.

We love our diverse population, and want all students to succeed on their unique academic path!

My Project

Having a dry erase board in the classroom is an important school supply. I have been provided one for my classroom, but I need one more to be able to make the required size drawings, illustrations, schedules, instructions, and formulas that are so important to the learning process for Biology. Additionally, this dry erase board is black and uses neon markers, which will allow me to make some pretty awesome drawings and to get creative with the presentation of the lessons! A glass window covers the black background so the markers will erase cleanly without staining the surface, which also extends the lifespan of the dry erase board so that it hopefully lasts many years!
