We all know what it feels like to be a little short on money, to have to pass on that want to have item and settle only for a need to have item. Well, the students I teach are more than familiar with this feeling being from a high poverty area.
My students are inquisitive and eager to learn.
They face challenges every day that many of us don't have to face in our lifetimes and are still fascinated by the fact that the letter c and letter k have the same sound (most of the time). My students are not only developing academically, but physically and socially as well. They have learned the kindness of strangers through previous use of the donors choose website and are eager to be able to experience more of that kindness to receive items that are desperately needed within our classroom.
I am requesting that you help our classroom by donating to our project for a dry erase board easel. We currently have a dry erase easel that no longer fully erases, despite using every trick in the book to restore the white board. When we do our morning message, the students are confusing an old marker stain for a comma or a period. This may seem like a trivial problem to some, but for many, this is the first time being exposed to punctuation marks. Having even this slight distraction is proving to hinder their learning experience which is simply not acceptable in my book. My children need your help to acquire materials that every successful classroom should have!
If you choose to donate, you will continue to show my students that kindness can occur even from a stranger.
You can help give my students the materials for success that are necessary for meaningful learning in a kindergarten classroom.
