Drumming for Success

My students need a set of hand drums to create enthusiasm and buy-in for our K-2 Friday Crew Meetings.

My Students

My students come from all different backgrounds and cultures. We embrace each other's uniqueness and prove that our differences make us stronger each and every day.

We are a Title 1 school, which means many of my students receive free or reduced lunch due to economic hardships at home.

I do my best to meet my students needs. We become like a family.

My students are full of love and have a joy for learning. I aspire to help them reach their full potential and learn how to be their best self.

My Project

We have a schoolwide goal to create a more positive school culture. In an effort to accomplish this, I am going to facilitate a Kindergarten-Second Grade Crew Meeting every Friday. The crew meeting will consist of a greeting where each student is greeted individually, a collaborative/team-building activity, acknowledgements and apologies, and announcements. The hand drums will be used at the beginning of every meeting. As the students enter the room, drums from around the world will be played on a sound system. Students chosen from each class (who have earned the opportunity), will get to choose a drum and play along. Once everyone is seated, we will begin our meeting. Drums create a sense of unity and will help create that positivity we desire. Students excel in a positive environment.
