Drumming for All, Big and Small - Part II

Help me give my students the last part of a class set of hand drums that will be used so that every child has a drum to play for active participation in music class!

My Project

Funding this project will put the final part of a class set of hand drums we need into the hands of all students in our school! Because I teach elementary general music, the curriculum and instruments used reach every student in our school community, and are used throughout all of their elementary years. To provide meaningful learning opportunities, children learn best with active music making. These drums will complete a class set of hand drums for our students to explore, express themselves, and create music.

From their first early childhood experiences to their final performances as fifth graders, students will grow as musicians and as responsible, creative members of our school community.

Because children learn best when they are actively engaged, the hands-on opportunities afforded by these instruments in our music room will lead to deeper creative problem solving and skill development. Students will work together to learn musicianship skills in playful ways with meaningful activities. Through the school year, they will grow as musicians, learning ways to compose and perform their own music to share with our school community! The creative possibilities are endless!
