This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students in my school come from a low income community. About 90% of the students at our school don't own their own instruments. The wind players have the advantage of being able to take their checked out instruments home everyday to practice. Unfortunately, that isn't the case for our percussionists. We don't have a stock of practice pads for them to be able to take home safely. Taking the actual drums home also isn't a very safe option for those who have to walk home everyday.

Our students want a way to be able to practice at home!

The goal of this project is to give a practice pad to every student that plays drums in our music program! Our students have been working so hard to bring live music back into the community, so they deserve a chance to be able to perfect their talents at home! We would appreciate any help that you're willing to give towards our program!
