My Students

I teach English 3 and Honors English 1 in a small district in Colorado. I have taught in this district for thirteen years. I love the kids here. Many are at-risk, and many are English language learners.

The kids here are motivated to learn, and many are just as active outside of the classroom as they are while in school.

Our school has been low performing for a few years now, and that has affected funding, leaving us behind in some areas.

My Project

I'm in desperate need of new copies of The Great Gatsby. These new books will replace older ones that are, quite literally, falling apart.

Fitzgerald's timeless tale of love and betrayal will get a much needed lift in my classroom.

Thanks to the generosity of donors at this organization, my students will get to meet Daisy, Nick, and Gatsby on fresh pages! We'll explore the different themes as they emerge in the story, look at Fitzgerald's use of irony, and be introduced to a plethora of new vocabulary.

Books wear out, and my older copies of this novel have run their course. Please consider donating to help a worthy cause!
