My Students

Last year I taught 4th grade, and my students loved DEAR time. I had one shelf full of books that satisfied them for the school year along with them checking out library books. Now I am teaching 5th grade, with half of the students being from my 4th grade class. My students want new books!

My students are deaf and have various reading levels.

I need challenging books but not frustrating books. My students at the same time need to be exposed to different genres, authors, etc. I want them to be interested in reading chapter books and trying new levels.

My Project

I picked several books that my students are interested in now and possibly in the future. I have also created a list of books that can meet all the reading levels of my students. Some of my students helped me picked out the books. They are very excited about Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) time is so important for students to be engage and enjoying reading.

These books will be so exciting for my students. They will be motivated during DEAR time to read new books.
