My students are hard working little learners. They love to read and learn new things. They love that I allow them to think for themselves. They are becoming great problem solvers.
A lot of the parents are not employed and therefore the children do not get the same experiences other children may get.
90% of my students come from at risk families. The majority of my students stay in their neighborhood. Their neighborhood does not have child friendly areas. The nice areas to go to are far for these parents to take their children. Also, expensive. The majority of the areas only have parks that are dangerous to be at. The neighborhood as a whole make the school their number one place to bring their children to enjoy themselves in family friendly activities.
The parents are very loving, hardworking and devoted to their children's education. They place their children's safety and happiness first. In the morning and at noon we have a lot of parents at the school spending breakfast and lunch with their students.
We currently only have 2 shelves that the student have a hard time reaching the books. I will be placing these book shelves at the head of the classroom where the students will have better access to the books and the carts will be for bringing more books from our library and books from home that I, the teacher have bought.
The students will be able to read books and write about them.
Finally, I want them to recommend them to their friends. I know the students will love being able to have carts of books rolled up closer to their height.
They will also be using one of the carts to for putting their Science text books. They will be able to get them faster when our time is limited in Science class.
