My Students

This donation will help those students who are participating in our new Fab Lab program. The students create engaging, hands-on activities that create a classroom environment that empowers each other to develop in-demand knowledge and skills they need to thrive and prepare for the real world.

These students work together to solve problems/challenges they will face today and in the future.

They will use the design process to work to design, build, and test solutions related to the problems they are challenged with. The students learn how to solve problems they will face in the future in a team-based learning atmosphere.

We service about 500 students each year in our Fab Lab program in Waterford, Wisconsin. Waterford is a rural area of Southeastern Wisconsin. Our students range from ages 11-14 years of age. We learn about everything from shop-related skills to robotics/drones and programming. Our students enjoy being engaged in hands-on activities and given real-world problems they can work to solve.

My Project

Building Industry 4.0 education through the use of innovative skills such as drone piloting in our PLTW Flight and Space class will engage the students who are always pushing themselves and exploring new challenges in the Fab Lab at FRMS! Our students will utilize their creativity and 21st-century thinking skills to work collaboratively to build, program, and command their robots to maneuver on this year's new challenge board.

The indoor drones will challenge the students, provide hands-on learning, use interactive and inquiry-based learning opportunities, and provide them the opportunity to use real-world applications with the 4 C's of 21st-century learning.

These robots and drones will allow the students to use their creativity and the engineering design process to code and use problem-solving strategies that will benefit them in their future endeavors.
