Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My schools students come from low-income families. They are sweet, energetic, and eager to learn! These students come from a diverse background. Some of them are bilingual with English as a second language and all of them have diverse needs.
They love to learn and get excited about coming to school.
My school is a positive and energetic learning community with students who love school. I want to provide all of my students with materials that are best suited for their needs. Our public school bends over backwards to help our students as much as possible, but budget cuts have severely decimated funding and I just can't afford to give them everything they need.
My Project
My students need school-appropriate uniform shirts for both boys and girls. Some students come to school in clothing that does not fit our dress code or is inappropriate. This causes an unfriendly learning environment! And, as you can see, our school is in a low-income neighborhood, so most of our students do not have money to buy school-appropriate clothing.
Having these life essentials will help our students focus on learning rather than their trembling, cold bodies!
With this donation, I feel like the students will become more active learners and focus on the task at hand rather than thinking how they can stay relaxed and comfortable (which no child should be thinking about while they are at school).
