The students in our classroom come from diverse backgrounds. They range in age from three years old to five years old. The students come from a very low-income area and all of the students qualify for free lunch. A number of students in the class come from single-parent homes and/or are being raised by their grandparents or other family members.
The preschoolers in our class come to school excited and ready to learn and experience new things.
There are typically developing students, as well as students who receive special education services in the classroom. The families of the students in our classroom love their children and want the absolute best for them.
My Project
The dramatic play toys that are being requested will greatly help our students to actively engage in play. We are in need of new dramatic play area toys and materials due to the recent COVID pandemic and sanitation guidelines that are required for our toys and classroom materials.
Quality dramatic play materials will provide means for the students to be actively engaged in play that promotes both practicing and learning of some key life skills.
The materials requested range from community worker items, home living skill tools, and well as some real-life career materials. The students will be able to utilize the toys and other materials on a daily basis. Children learn through play and we know that providing them with quality tools will enhance their learning.
