Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a Title 1 school located in a low-income community in Pacoima, California. Most school supplies are provided to our students and families, but additional supplies are needed. I purchase much needed items for my sweet students every year.

My Project

My students are extremely lovable and excited about being in school. They spend their school days learning to read, write, and count, but they also learn how to love, respect, and share. We work together on phonics, reading, writing, math, science, and social studies daily. That being said, they also need time to have FUN and PLAY for their overall well being! The students in my class are allotted about 25 minutes 3x a week to participate in our Dramatic Kitchen and Pet Vet Centers. It is a sight to see how much they enjoy playing in the kitchen, as well as role playing vets and pet owners. Incentives are also a huge motivator to kids, so supplies of small treasures for our treasure box would be appreciated!
